Call for Abstracts

Abstract Submission Details

The Scientific Committee of EARSCC 2014 welcomes abstract submissions from all relevant sectors of safety promotion and injury prevention practice. This includes works from individuals, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, university-based research groups and the private sector.

Please carefully note the following guidelines for abstract submission:

  • Only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed.
  • Abstracts should be the original work of the submitting authors.
  • Abstracts must not exceed a maximum of 300 words and should follow the template provided below, in plain text format only with the extension TXT (No proprietary file formats .doc, .docx please).
  • Abstracts must NOT contain tables, pictures or diagrams.
  • All abbreviations must be spelled out on first use.
  • Abstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar.

Introduction
Should provide a succinct summary of the purpose and nature of the research and why it was carried out.

Methods
What was done and how was it done procedurally in logical order? Basic explanations of statistical tests, if done, should be described.

Results
Report the major findings of the study.

Discussion and Conclusions
What is the take home message of the findings and how might they be utilized to improve practice at local and/or national levels?

Relevant deadlines
Abstracts must be submitted by 15 August 2014 for inclusion in the printed program. Authors will be notified of acceptance of abstracts by 20 August 2014 and will also be notified if the abstract has been selected for an oral or poster presentation. Abstract authors must be registered to attend the conference, by 1 October 2014.

Terms and Conditions:
The submission of an abstract indicates an understanding of the following rules for participation in EARSCC 2014:

  • All author(s) approve submitting this work for presentation.
  • The author(s) agree to accept a Creative Commons License “Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike” for accepted abstracts EARSCC 2014. This allows for the widest possible dissemination of the work.
  • The author(s) agree(s) to materially confine their presentations to information in the abstract if accepted for presentation. If an author has more than one abstract accepted, each presentation will be materially confined to the information in the abstract selected for the specific session.
  • At least one author will be available to present the abstract if selected for the program. The authors will immediately notify the EARSCC 2014 Secretariat if they are unable to present an abstract or if the presenting author is changed.
