On March 20th the Seattle Children’s Hospital, a leader in adolescent medicine, hosted a talk delivered by the PeerCorps Centre for Injury Prevention Director Mike Wilson, about injuries among adolescents. The one hour talk was entitled “Adolescent injury prevention: vision, challenges and sustainability”. It covered the silent epidemic of injury among adolescents in low- and middle-income country settings with a focus on the African region. The work of the PeerCorps Centre for Injury Prevention since 2009 was highlighted along with a presentation of what it sees as major challenges to the spread of safety awareness in Tanzania.
