Welcome to our new blog space!

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the new blog space of the PeerCorps Network! The past few years have seen considerable development across the Network and we look forward to sharing our progress with all of you here. This blog is intended as a replacement for our print newsletter PEERVoice which circulated until 2011.

Each of these organizations are members of the PeerCorps Network:


PeerCorps Trust Fund (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania)
The PeerCorps Trust Fund (PEERCORPS) began in 2004 as a grassroots medical student movement in the corridors of the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Medicine in Tanzania (East Africa). PEERCORPS today is a grassroots organization dedicated to connecting Tanzanian communities to innovative strategies for improved health and sustainable development. It is active in the areas of injury prevention, rural development and education. All activities are approached from a community-centered perspective. The vision and collaborative grassroots nature of the PEERCORPS is shared across the Network by members in the USA (La.), Colombia and Paraguay.

Consultative Group on Latin American Development & Security (Asunción, Paraguay)
The Consultative Group on Latin American Development and Security (COGLADES), is a multi-national non-governmental organization based in Paraguay which is committed to the Latin American region. It works to promote activities that result in improved citizen safety, improved human welfare and social justice. Its members are active in many areas of cultural, civic and scientific life across Latin America.


Corporación Sembrando en Familia (Medellín, Colombia)
The Corporación Sembrando en Familia (CSB) is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to the marginalized neighborhoods of Villa Liliam, Esfuerzos de Paz, Villa Turbay and La Sierra in the foothills of the city of Medellín, Colombia. The activities that are carried out by CSB contribute daily to improving the living conditions of at-risk children and their families, particularly those affected by violence and poverty. Sembrando en Familia also provides a meeting place for children where they can enjoy educational recreation, counseling and material support.

John Harvey Lowery Foundation (Donaldsonville, La., USA)
The John Harvey Lowery Foundation (JHLF) is a charitable community development corporation based in Donaldsonville, La., USA. It’s mission lies in increasing educational opportunities in rural and low-income settings. The foundation has a strong focus on developing organizational and human capacity. Internationally, the JHLF supports efforts that improve child literacy and safety. The organization is named in honor of the contributions to community well-being made by physician-philanthropist and politician John H. Lowery, M.D. of Donaldsonville, La. (1860-1941).
